Senior Software Engineer, Web Development – AI

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid work with office attendance generally required Monday through Thursday and flexible remote work on Fridays.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable web applications and backend services for advertising products.
• Build and integrate AI-powered features into web applications and enterprise tools.
• Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions for chatbot interactions.
• Collaborate with UX designers, software engineers, DevOps, QA, and product management on feature planning and delivery.
• Use CI/CD practices and tools to maintain software quality, scalability, and reliable releases.
• Investigate complex user-facing problems and improve performance, reliability, and delivery efficiency.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, modern web frameworks, React, Next, Angular, Node, and Express.
• Experience building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems and cloud-based solutions using AWS or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization, object-oriented programming, databases, caching, and data access patterns.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows and AI/ML APIs or SDKs; hands-on RAG or LLM chatbot experience is preferred.
• In-depth CI/CD experience, including tools such as Jenkins, plus familiarity with GitLab, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with RAG solutions or LLM-powered chatbots.
• Exposure to observability tools and practices such as Prometheus and Grafana.
