Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 145,000–170,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing engineering staff while managing facilities engineering and maintenance functions.
• Oversee process safety, process optimization, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and best-practice implementation for specialty chemical manufacturing.
• Drive improvements in cost, quality, safety, yield, delivery performance, and operational efficiency through KPIs and continuous improvement.
• Support new product introduction, process scale-up, and the transition from development into full-scale manufacturing.
• Manage engineering and capital projects, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, schedules, scope, budgets, and expenditures.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, R&D, commercial teams, customers, and stakeholders on technical and business initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• 8–12+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process engineering.
• 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience with new product introduction, process scale-up, manufacturing integration, and process safety management.
• Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems and complex cross-functional project management.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, financial, and budget management skills.

• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
• Experience driving innovation in manufacturing technologies and methods.
