Junior QA Tester (Android)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; hybrid working model with office attendance

What you will do

• Execute manual functional, UI/UX, behavioral, smoke, sanity, regression, and exploratory tests across Android smartphones, audio devices, mobile apps, and enterprise software.
• Document detailed defects in GitLab with reproduction steps, expected and actual results, screenshots, recordings, and system logs.
• Re-test bug fixes and verify ticket resolutions with engineering and QA colleagues.
• Flash and update software or firmware builds, configure test devices, and maintain the physical device inventory.
• Run pre-written performance and stress scripts, comparative benchmark tests, and standardized release checklists.
• Report execution progress, coverage, pass/fail metrics, and blockers during QA team syncs.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in QA testing or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of software QA concepts, testing methodologies, and testing framework principles.
• Hands-on familiarity with Android, mobile applications, smartphone settings, consumer audio devices, and Bluetooth interactions.
• Basic experience with bug-tracking and issue-management systems such as GitLab or Jira.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• ISTQB Foundation certification or similar qualification.
• Basic familiarity with Android Debug Bridge and ADB commands for log extraction.
• Exposure to Android Enterprise solutions or telecom operator validation workflows.
• Testing experience with consumer electronics, mobile applications, or hardware.
• Knowledge of Python or JavaScript for data analysis or automated test scripts.

Hiring process
