Market Surveillance Specialist (Crypto)

Location: Vienna, Austria; position is based at the Vienna EU headquarters

What you will do

• Monitor trading activity across multiple markets to detect insider trading, market manipulation, and other forms of market abuse.
• Analyze trading data with Excel, SQL, Python, and visualization tools to identify suspicious patterns.
• Prepare investigation reports, document suspicious activity, and present findings to compliance teams and senior management.
• Track local and EU market abuse regulations and support compliance with MiFID II and MAR.
• Collaborate with compliance, legal, and trading teams to improve market integrity controls.
• Assist with training materials and awareness programs on market abuse.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or trading, with a focus on market abuse.
• Strong understanding of MiFID II and MAR.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, including Excel, SQL, or Python.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Effective communication skills in English and German are required.
