Software Engineer - Edge AI Systems

Location: Seattle, WA, United States; hybrid workplace

Salary: $145,000–$200,000 per year, excluding potential bonuses, benefits, and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Train and fine-tune LLMs and specialized AI models for tactical edge applications.
• Optimize model performance across GPU, CPU, and specialized accelerator hardware.
• Design and implement multi-agent systems for mission scenarios.
• Integrate LLM agents with sensors, effectors, and drone systems.
• Benchmark agent capabilities, performance, and reliability.
• Build scalable, robust, and fail-safe production systems for high-stakes environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years contributing to system design or architecture, including reliability and scaling.
• Experience building and deploying LLMs and LLM agents with PyTorch, HuggingFace Transformers, LangChain, and vLLM.
• Strong proficiency in Rust, Python, or C++.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Active US security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with edge AI optimization tools such as Ollama, Mojo, TVM, TensorFlow Lite, and vLLM.
• Defense-sector experience, particularly with weapon and UxV systems.
• Experience optimizing AI models and runtime performance for edge hardware.
