Senior Staff Data Scientist (Search)

Location: Mountain View, USA

Base pay: $174,000–$290,000 per year, depending on geographic market, knowledge, skills, and experience.

hirify.global is a large global public e-commerce company building search, discovery, and shopping experiences for customers, with a startup-oriented approach to launching new services.

What you will do

• Own the data science function within a core pillar of the Search and Discovery organization.
• Analyze customer interactions with search results to improve customer experience and business performance.
• Lead experiment ideation, design, measurement, and interpretation.
• Build datasets that improve the speed and accuracy of data analysis.
• Evaluate machine learning ranking models, LLMs, and model configurations to optimize search.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• 8 years of data science experience in customer-facing technology companies.
• Expertise in experimentation and statistics.
• Strong coding skills in SQL and R or Python.
• Experience with massive datasets and optimizing data extraction.
• Understanding of machine learning concepts and the impact of model configurations on outcomes; ability to communicate data concepts to cross-functional stakeholders up to the C-suite.

• Experience in e-commerce and/or search.
