Head of Spectrum & Regulatory Affairs (SATCOM)

Location: Hybrid in Harwell, UK; Athens, Greece; Barcelona, Spain; Mallorca, Spain; Porto, Portugal; or Tenerife, Spain. Candidates must have the legal right to work in their chosen location.

What you will do

• Define and execute the regulatory and spectrum strategy for global satellite communications services.
• Own the lifecycle, protection, and management of ITU filings, spectrum assets, and regulatory rights.
• Lead frequency coordination with satellite operators and national administrations.
• Oversee compatibility analyses, interference modelling, link budgets, and EPFD assessments supporting regulatory submissions.
• Manage licensing for gateways, TT&C infrastructure, and user terminals across multiple jurisdictions.
• Represent hirify.global with regulators, international bodies, and industry stakeholders while coordinating with engineering, mission operations, legal, and commercial teams.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in ITU Radio Regulations, filing procedures, and international coordination processes.
• Strong understanding of satellite communications systems, RF performance, link budgets, interference analysis, and EPFD constraints.
• Experience leading spectrum strategy and regulatory negotiations with administrations and satellite operators.
• Strong knowledge of national licensing frameworks and global regulatory environments.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical, operational, and commercial strategy.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to drive complex regulatory programmes through delivery.
