TL;DR
Data Science AI Strategy, UK (AI/data strategy): Building analytical and financial models to guide adoption, monetization, investment, and deployment of AI capabilities across a software platform with an accent on inference COGS, GPU economics, cloud costs, and margin analysis. Focus on forecasting AI usage and revenue impact, optimizing cost-to-serve, and creating executive-ready recommendations for complex portfolio decisions.

What you will do
- Build analytical and financial models measuring the business impact of AI capabilities across multiple industry groups.
- Forecast AI adoption, usage, revenue influence, inference costs, margins, and long-term investment requirements.
- Develop business cases and decision-ready analysis for prioritization, monetization, pricing, packaging, and leadership reviews.
- Model cloud, GPU, and inference economics, including utilization, scaling, cost efficiency, COGS, and cost-to-serve dynamics.
- Translate product telemetry into insights and create dashboards, reporting frameworks, and execution tools.
- Prepare executive- and Board-ready presentations and strategic narratives while collaborating with Product, Finance, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must be based in the UK; hybrid or remote work is available.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, data science, statistics, computer science, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in business strategy, analytics, strategic finance, business operations, product strategy, product analytics, management consulting, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including experience with adoption, usage, revenue, COGS, margin, and ROI models.
- Experience with cloud, GPU, and inference cost structures, or the ability to quickly learn AI infrastructure economics.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills; Excel is required, with SQL or Python familiarity preferred.
Nice to have
- Degree in data science or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience, depending on educational background.
- Experience with AI infrastructure, model serving, inference costs, GPU economics, cloud economics, or compute cost optimization.
- Experience with SaaS economics, subscription analytics, pricing, packaging, monetization strategy, AI agents, or API-driven business models.
