Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant

Location: Sumida-ku, Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid)

hirify.global develops on-orbit servicing solutions, including satellite life extension, space situational awareness, end-of-life services, and active debris removal.

What you will do

• Manage global accounting operations and maintain accurate general ledgers.
• Prepare accounting reports and support month-end closing, disclosures, and consolidation.
• Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and coordinate resolutions with subsidiaries.
• Manage cash payments and perform regular account reconciliations, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Support external and internal audits, tax returns, and tax audits.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and the Office of the CFO on intercompany frameworks, system improvements, financial reporting, and fundraising matters.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and meet deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience as a senior accountant or in a similar role at a listed company.
• Experience with consolidated financial reporting.
• Nissho Bookkeeping Certification Level 2 or above, USCPA, Japanese CPA, or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
