Senior Editor, CNBC Make It

Location: Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, United States; hybrid with office attendance at least three days per week. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: USD 150,000–200,000 yearly

What you will do

• Shape CNBC Make It’s daily and enterprise coverage on careers, money, leadership, work culture and personal ambition.
• Edit short- and long-form journalism for accuracy, clarity, structure, tone and legal standards.
• Develop compelling story angles, headlines, leads and editorial franchises.
• Monitor the news cycle, identify emerging trends and steer timely, service-driven coverage.
• Use audience analytics alongside editorial and departmental priorities to guide decisions.
• Collaborate with reporters, producers, senior editors, audience teams, product and business partners.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of editing experience in a digital newsroom or publishing environment.
• At least 3 years of experience managing an editorial team.
• Strong journalism skills, editorial judgment, communication, organization and leadership abilities.
• Strong understanding of SEO, analytics, digital news production, journalistic standards and AP Style.
• Ability to make complex topics accessible, work quickly under deadline pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with media training or appearing as an expert on live television.
• Experience at a large digital publisher, major online news site or financial publication.
• Experience creating editorial franchises, series and trend-driven coverage.
• Interest in business news, workplace trends, personal finance and consumer-focused storytelling.
