TL;DR
SW Engineer (AI) (Java/Generative AI): Developing scalable enterprise solutions for Visa Resolve Online, transforming dispute management through Generative AI, Machine Learning, Conversational AI, and intelligent automation with an accent on maintainable services, API integrations, and production reliability. Focus on building AI-assisted software delivery workflows, designing reusable components, developing automated tests, and addressing performance and reliability challenges in high-volume payments systems.
Location: Singapore; at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do
- Develop scalable features and reusable components for the Resolve Online program.
- Apply Generative AI to API integration, anomaly detection, intelligent automation, and developer productivity.
- Write clean, maintainable, readable, and testable Java/J2EE code.
- Build and maintain automated unit and component tests, addressing defects, performance issues, and reliability gaps.
- Participate in production releases and operational readiness activities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, DevOps, QA, Security, Architecture, and peer engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline, or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- 1–2 years of software engineering experience with enterprise-grade Java/J2EE applications.
- Experience or knowledge of Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Knowledge of large language models, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, model limitations, data privacy, and responsible AI.
- Strong foundations in clean code, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, scalable architecture, debugging, and testing.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical decisions and document designs clearly.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI coding assistants and developer productivity tools such as Claude Code CLI, GitHub Copilot, or Cline.
- Experience in financial services, payments, dispute processing, or other high-volume, mission-critical enterprise platforms.
