TL;DR
Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Firmware & Machine Control (C/C++): Developing and sustaining firmware, embedded software, and automation applications for HDD backend test equipment with an accent on hardware-software interfaces, machine control, robotics, and machine vision. Focus on integrating motion control and vision systems, debugging and validating new hardware, and deploying reliable software for high-volume manufacturing operations.
Location: Onsite in Teparuk, Samut Prakan, Thailand

What you will do
- Develop and sustain firmware for PCBA boards, including hardware-software interfaces, low-level communication protocols, upgrades, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
- Design machine control systems, state machines, software architectures, and technical design documentation for automation equipment.
- Integrate motion control, robotics, machine vision, and industrial communication interfaces into HDD backend test platforms.
- Select and qualify vision hardware, develop vision recipes, perform system calibration, and support equipment integration, validation, qualification, and production deployment.
- Manage source control, code reviews, software releases, technical priorities, milestones, and deliverables across the software lifecycle.
- Develop software tests for hardware integrations and troubleshoot issues affecting equipment uptime and manufacturing efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- More than 5 years of hands-on experience developing software and firmware for test equipment systems.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, C#, Java, and Python, including 3+ years of C#/.NET development for automation equipment software.
- Experience with microcontrollers, RTOS firmware, object-oriented programming, state machines, and software architecture design.
- Experience with GitHub source control, motion control, robotics, equipment integration, machine vision hardware, and vision recipe development.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, validation, production deployment, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to AI and machine learning initiatives for equipment capability and operational insight.
- Experience developing and maintaining software in Linux environments.
- Knowledge of SSL/TLS, certificate lifecycle management, and key management systems.
