Embedded Software Engineering Manager (Embedded Firmware)

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day work and performance of a 10-member embedded firmware development team.
• Ensure project milestones, department goals, schedules, and approved budgets are met.
• Implement and manage CI/CD, change management, source code management, code reviews, and secure coding practices for embedded software.
• Contribute to technology and architecture decisions for secure token devices.
• Work with Product Managers to estimate software development work and maintain development program schedules.
• Hire, review, and support the professional development of firmware and software engineering team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with relevant hardware and embedded software development experience.
• At least 1–3 years of proven supervisory experience, with strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with Scrum agile development, CI/CD for embedded software, source code management, and change management.
• Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, basic electronics, BLE, NFC, Wi-Fi, UART, SPI, I2C, and embedded system limitations.
• Experience with embedded development environments such as IAR and Keil, and source version management with SVN or Git.
• Fluent English is required for reading, spoken, and written communication.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of secure element or smart card interfaces.
• Experience with embedded operating systems such as Linux, QNX, or FreeRTOS.
• Knowledge of Dutch.
