AI Research Scientist (ML/NLP)

What you will do

• Develop and train state-of-the-art foundation models, including work on RL and reward modeling.
• Design and implement evaluation loops, benchmarks, and failure analysis for LLMs.
• Own the full research cycle, from framing questions and running experiments to shipping production-ready results.
• Collaborate with US-based leadership and engineering teams on frontier topics like multimodal models and agentic tool use.
• Contribute to open-source projects and publish research in top-tier venues like NeurIPS, ICML, or ACL.

Requirements

• English: Professional fluency (C1+) required for daily collaboration with US teams.
• Strong background in ML/NLP, evidenced by a PhD or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with foundation models, training architectures, or agentic systems.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and frame unclear problems into actionable research experiments.
• Must be based in Germany.
