Inline Metrology Discovery Lead (Semiconductor)

hirify.global is a 2022 TU Munich spin-off developing quantum-sensing technology for three-dimensional current mapping, chip debugging, and semiconductor yield analysis.

What you will do

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of application engineers, data scientists, and lab technicians, setting technical direction and developing the organisation.
• Source inline use cases across foundries, IDMs, and OSATs and turn customer interest into precise, testable problem statements.
• Secure labelled samples and defect context to validate whether magnetic field imaging solves problems beyond existing inspection methods.
• Prioritise opportunities by technical fit, customer value, and time to proof, including making and defending early no-go decisions.
• Translate qualified use cases into development programmes with clear acceptance criteria and feed results into the inline product roadmap.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor high-volume manufacturing, process control, inline inspection, or metrology, including wafer-level inspection.
• Direct experience qualifying and adopting inspection or metrology tools in high-volume manufacturing, including sampling plans, cost of ownership, and integration constraints.
• An engineering-level network at foundries, IDMs, or OSATs.
• Experience defining use cases for new inspection or metrology capabilities and driving them to clear technical decisions.
• Strong knowledge of advanced-packaging and back-end-of-line defect physics, including opens, shorts, voids, and bonding defects.
• Fluent English required; German is an advantage. The role involves substantial international travel across Europe, the US, and Asia.
