Staff-Plus Engineer (AI)

Location: Prague, Czech Republic; hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days working from home.

hirify.global Group operates a multi-market online grocery platform delivering 25,000 SKUs in under three hours and is developing AI-native engineering and agentic shopping capabilities.

What you will do

• Own the long-term technical vision, architecture, and strategic direction of a core domain.
• Lead cross-team design discussions, architectural reviews, and major technical initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Engineers, and Product Owners to translate business goals into technical strategy.
• Set and maintain high standards for security, scalability, performance, and system quality.
• Champion agentic-first development, automation, and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• Unblock complex technical issues, mentor senior engineers, and influence group-wide technology and platform direction.

Requirements

• Experience designing and scaling large, mission-critical systems serving users at scale.
• Strong record of making durable architectural decisions and explaining technical trade-offs.
• Ability to align senior engineers and influence decisions without formal authority.
• Deep expertise in a technical domain such as payments, logistics, customer experience, or AI/ML.
• Proficiency in Java and React, familiarity with multiple programming paradigms and technology stacks.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and contributing to cross-regional or multi-country technology operations.
