Staff Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid with an expectation of three days per week onsite

What you will do

• Act as the technical lead for the Security Engineering team, setting direction and coaching security engineers.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security practices and tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Design reusable Security as Code artefacts and standardized security patterns.
• Conduct threat modeling and security assessments for applications, systems, projects, and technologies.
• Develop automation for auditing, cloud security posture management, and other security processes.
• Maintain and expand Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD codebases while applying AI to scale security operations.

Requirements

• Experience guiding, coaching, and mentoring engineers and leading cross-team security collaboration.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, secure software development, and security architecture.
• Strong expertise in AWS and container security, including Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD security controls, Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, and scripting with Python and Bash.
• Ability to use modern AI and LLM frameworks to accelerate workflows and build scalable security solutions.
• Strong communication, collaboration, pragmatism, and a continuous improvement mindset.
