Software Developer (PHP/Laravel)

Location: Remote - Canada

Base salary: CAD 120,000–150,000 per year, plus potential equity and other compensation.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, document, and optimize RESTful API endpoints with Laravel and PHP.
• Build responsive user interfaces and reusable components with Vue.js in collaboration with product managers, designers, and front-end developers.
• Implement software across the full technology stack using object-oriented or functional programming practices.
• Optimize MySQL data models, queries, indexing, and ORM or SQL-based database access.
• Deploy and scale web applications with AWS, including Node.js serverless microservices on AWS Lambda and CDN-based content delivery.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of software development experience building and maintaining SaaS web applications.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs with authentication, validation, and error handling.
• Solid understanding of JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular, including build and deployment patterns.
• Experience with TDD and automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, or PHPUnit.
• Understanding of observability, monitoring, performance optimization, continuous deployment, multi-tenant architectures, and layered services.

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Previous experience developing SaaS products and familiarity with SaaS architecture and release practices.
