Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: San Jose, United States. Hybrid schedule with office work generally expected Monday through Thursday; Fridays are generally flexible for remote work.

Salary: $229,500–$360,000 annual salary for California.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ML platform services, including feature stores, real-time inference services, and vector databases.
• Develop distributed systems serving millions of transactions per second for personalized content recommendations.
• Run and monitor online A/B tests, analyzing platform metrics and business KPIs to improve recommendation performance.
• Translate business requirements into modular platform components and APIs in collaboration with US-based engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Evolve the ML platform ecosystem to improve developer velocity, scalability, and adaptability.
• Support onboarding, training, and mentoring for new team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software solutions.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in Java, Scala, Kotlin, or Python.
• Experience with big data systems such as Spark, Kafka, Flink, S3, or Airflow.
• Familiarity with Ray, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or AWS SageMaker.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus AI literacy and curiosity.
