Senior Data Engineer (IoT): Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data access services for fiber-sensing infrastructure monitoring with an accent on streaming architectures, sensor data storage, and AI/ML workloads. Focus on designing low-latency distributed systems, optimizing cloud infrastructure and storage costs, and ensuring observability and reliability across edge, cloud, and on-premise environments.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines integrating APIs, databases, streaming platforms, edge devices, cloud services, and on-premise systems.
- Build reliable batch and real-time data processing workflows, including low-latency streaming and event-driven architectures.
- Develop data access services and REST APIs connecting edge devices, cloud infrastructure, and on-premise environments.
- Design and optimize storage for structured, semi-structured, and high-dimensional sensor data used in AI training, inference, and analytics.
- Improve data architecture, processing performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cloud cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with Software, AI, Algorithms, DevOps, and Product teams while designing monitoring and observability processes for data platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or a related role, including 5+ years of software development experience.
- At least 2 years of Python development experience.
- Experience with large-scale data pipelines and orchestration frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, streaming and messaging systems, REST APIs, backend services, and AWS cloud services.
- Experience with Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, modern software engineering practices, and cross-functional collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes, distributed computing, and distributed data processing systems.
- Experience building ML data pipelines for training and inference workloads.
- Experience with large-scale sensor, IoT, or time-series data.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Kibana, or OpenSearch.
- Experience with edge computing or hybrid cloud environments.
