Kubernetes Operator Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; East Coast, United States. Synchronous work is expected between 1:30–5:00pm CET.

hirify.global is building a multimodal data stack and hirify.global Hub, a catalog and storage engine for robot training data and physical AI.

What you will do

• Own the Kubernetes operator and control plane for provisioning, configuring, and managing hirify.global Hub deployments.
• Design and maintain CRDs, controllers, reconciliation logic, APIs, tests, and releases.
• Extend the control plane to support customer infrastructure requirements across networking, IAM, storage, and cluster configuration.
• Improve production reliability through observability, CI/CD, incident response, and deployment workflows from local development through production.
• Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and work directly with customers during cloud onboarding.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with deep Kubernetes operator experience.
• Production experience designing CRDs and shipping controllers using controller-runtime, Kubebuilder, or Operator SDK.
• Proficiency in Go and ability to read and contribute to an asynchronous Rust codebase.
• Experience with AWS, infrastructure as code such as Terraform or OpenTofu, and production-grade observability.
• Strong English communication skills and willingness to work synchronously during the specified CET overlap.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-throughput, time-series, or analytical database systems.
• Background in data-intensive infrastructure.
• Interest in robotics, AR/VR, machine learning, or simulation.
