Senior Data Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and own the cloud data lake and lakehouse for identity signals, risk events, and decision outcomes.
• Build and operate scalable batch and streaming pipelines using data from SDKs, APIs, third-party partners, and internal services.
• Develop Airflow orchestration workflows for research, reporting, compliance analytics, ML training, and feature pipelines.
• Own production data infrastructure reliability, observability, monitoring, alerting, SLAs, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with data science, ML, and product teams on feature stores and real-time decisioning data flows.
• Improve data quality, schema governance, testing, documentation, and graph-based fraud intelligence while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of hands-on big data engineering experience across batch and streaming systems in the cloud.
• Deep experience with EMR, Spark, S3, Athena, and modern warehouses or lakehouses such as ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Production experience with Airflow or Astronomer and familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, EMR on EKS, Kafka or MSK, and RDS.
• Strong understanding of OLAP and OLTP systems, RESTful APIs, batch and real-time architectures, monitoring, and instrumentation.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Scala or Java, plus expert-level SQL.

Nice to have

• Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, TigerGraph, or Amazon Neptune.
• Background in fraud detection, risk, identity, fintech, or other high-stakes real-time data domains.
• Experience with data quality frameworks, data cataloging, Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi.
• Experience supporting ML platforms, feature stores, training pipelines, or model-serving data flows.
