Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Location: US - New York, NY; hybrid

Salary: $130K–$215K per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead initiatives and complex projects across backend systems, infrastructure, and the data platform.
• Design, develop, maintain, and improve shared software infrastructure and platform abstractions.
• Drive scalability, performance, availability, observability, and developer-experience improvements.
• Plan and execute large-scale architectural changes, including database sharding, event bus performance, search scaling, and end-to-end latency improvements.
• Improve incident response for impaired production systems and identify systemic engineering inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with InfoSec on compliance, vulnerability management, security investigations, and automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and managing large-scale, highly available distributed web applications.
• Mastery of a high-level programming language such as Go, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB, and designing database sharding configurations.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform.
• Experience owning technical architecture discussions, leading engineering initiatives, and mentoring engineers.
• Experience creating SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs; a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience developing internal tools for engineering teams.
• Experience with AWS, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, or Kinesis.
