Applications Engineer Intern (GIS): Testing and validating TerraFlex mobile software, cloud-based systems, and GNSS positioning workflows in real-world mapping scenarios with an accent on field data collection, device compatibility, and end-to-end system validation. Focus on characterizing mapping hardware, analyzing project data in GIS software, identifying defects, and verifying fixes with development and product teams.
Location: Onsite at 's headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand. Local field testing is required, including outdoor data collection.

What you will do
- Collect field data and characterize GNSS receivers to verify mapping hardware and software precision.
- Test device compatibility across Android and iOS platforms.
- Set up mock customer projects and perform end-to-end system testing.
- Analyze collected data using MapViewer, TerraOffice, and GIS software.
- Report software defects and improvement opportunities, then verify fixes during the development cycle.
- Collaborate in weekly test team sync-ups to summarize findings and escalate critical issues.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a tertiary qualification in surveying, geography, geoscience, or a related engineering field.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and ownership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.
- Willingness to work outdoors for field data collection and system validation.
- Technical curiosity and interest in user-centric design.
- Ability to work onsite in Christchurch, New Zealand and complete local field testing.
Nice to have
- Experience with GIS software such as ESRI ArcGISPro.
- Familiarity with cloud-based software systems or mobile application testing.
- Previous exposure to GPS/GNSS hardware.
