Senior Mobile Engineer (Android / iOS, On-Device & SDK)

Location: Hybrid in Durham, United States; only candidates local to the posting location will be considered.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Android SDKs and on-device services, with iOS work as the cross-platform footprint grows.
• Improve package-manager reliability, dynamic app delivery, installation success, and recovery paths across fragmented devices and operating systems.
• Partner with OEM and carrier integration teams to deliver features within platform, privacy, and resource constraints.
• Extend on-device surfaces supporting alternative distribution and brand-on-device experiences.
• Own the full product lifecycle, including instrumentation, alerting, staged rollouts, A/B experimentation, monitoring, and on-call operations.
• Improve code quality through reviews, automated testing, tooling, and mentoring on mobile engineering practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production mobile software.
• Deep Android expertise with Kotlin or Java and a strong command of native internals.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, memory and battery profiling, data structures, and mobile design patterns.
• Experience shipping SDKs, libraries, or framework-level code consumed by other developers.
• Experience operating mobile software in production at scale, including monitoring, debugging field issues, and staged rollouts.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, outcome-oriented engineering team.

Nice to have

• iOS experience with Swift or Objective-C.
• AdTech, mobile measurement and attribution, or on-device ML inference experience.
• Familiarity with OEM and carrier preload constraints, Android system applications, or device-management contexts.
• Experience with alternative app stores or in-app purchase and payment flows.
