Freelance Apparel Designer

What you will do

• Design new apparel styles across ready-to-wear, intimates, outerwear, and related categories.
• Develop trend-driven concepts aligned with the brand aesthetic and customer lifestyle.
• Create hand or digital sketches using Adobe Illustrator and Procreate, translating concepts into detailed design specifications.
• Research alternative fashion, festival wear, rave, goth, punk, and related subcultures.
• Select fabrics, trims, prints, and washes according to cost targets and brand requirements.
• Build and maintain tech packs with measurements, construction details, callouts, colorways, and trims for factories and vendors.

Requirements

• College degree in Fashion Design.
• 5–7 years of industry experience in fashion design, apparel, footwear, bags, or accessories.
• Portfolio demonstrating range across silhouettes, prints, categories, and trims.
• Experience creating computerized vector flats in Adobe Illustrator; hand-sketching ability is an advantage.
• Required experience with tech packs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
