Senior Production Operations Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Base pay: $172,100–$258,100 USD per year

What you will do

• Own production operations and support for internal and public-facing services running on AWS and container platforms.
• Drive production readiness for new services through provisioning, automation, monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, rollback planning, and operational acceptance criteria.
• Build scripts, tools, and repeatable workflows that reduce operational toil and improve incident response.
• Improve observability, event correlation, service health signals, incident workflows, and operational metrics such as MTTD and MTTR.
• Optimize service performance, capacity, scalability, and cost using AWS, Kubernetes, EKS/UKS, autoscaling, and related cloud patterns.
• Provide rotational on-call support, lead incident triage and mitigation, and document post-incident reviews with corrective actions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience operating and supporting production services at scale, including hands-on incident management and on-call support.
• 3+ years of AWS Cloud experience deploying, tuning, and operating Java/API services.
• Strong knowledge of distributed service operations, Linux, networking, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, load balancing, and API troubleshooting.
• Experience with AWS services, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/UKS, Fargate, Python, Go or Java, Git, and configuration management.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, or Spinnaker.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, plus strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment processing, commerce, entitlements, wallets, fraud, or financial systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted development or agentic engineering tools such as Codex, Claude, or Cursor.
