Senior Social Media Specialist

Location: Remote from Japan, with a preference for the general Tokyo area

Employment type: Part-time, 24 hours per week, 6-month fixed-term role

What you will do

• Own daily social media content for hirify.global Japan, with a focus on Instagram.
• Create timely, newsworthy static assets and short-form videos with viral potential.
• Promote a broad range of petitions while maintaining the platform’s open-platform reputation in Japan.
• Develop and execute influencer engagement strategies for priority campaigns.
• Grow Japan’s social presence and align local content output with the global social media strategy.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in news media as a reporter or in a similar role.
• Experience with interviewing, photography, video recording, writing, and editing.
• Ability to produce static social assets in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to shoot, create, and edit short-form video for social platforms.
• Deep understanding of the Japanese news and social media landscape.
• Fluent communication in both Japanese and English; professional-level English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building and managing relationships with influencers in Japan.
• Experience growing social media accounts organically for a Japanese media outlet, company, nonprofit, or campaign organization.
• Experience using AI tools to streamline content workflows.
