Senior Platform Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Lead the migration of the MetaSDV platform from local Docker deployments to a hosted, multi-tenant cloud offering.
• Operate the cloud platform, including capacity planning, SLOs, on-call operations, cost control, backup, disaster recovery, and reliability.
• Implement security and compliance controls covering tenant isolation, audit logging, secrets, certificates, and identity boundaries.
• Own containerized build and release engineering, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, compiler caching, multi-architecture builds, artifact publishing, offline packages, and registry hygiene.
• Maintain containerized end-to-end, integration, performance, observability, and hardware-in-the-loop adjacent infrastructure.
• Provision partner-facing platform instances and improve developer experience through reproducible builds, fast feedback loops, and cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of production experience in platform engineering, DevOps, build, or release engineering.
• Production experience migrating software from on-premise or local Docker deployments to a hosted cloud offering.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong production experience with Docker, multi-stage container builds, and complex GitLab CI/CD or comparable pipelines.
• Fluent English and strong Linux skills, including networking, filesystems, processes, and performance debugging.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bazel or similar large-scale build systems and migration from Cargo or CMake.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or simulation-in-the-loop CI infrastructure, such as RENODE or QEMU.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, UN R155, or UN R156.
• Experience with AI-assisted productivity tools, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud cost optimization.
• Knowledge of automotive products, software-defined vehicle operating systems, or related platforms.
