Staff Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Primarily onsite at hirify.global HQ in Stockholm, Sweden, with the option to work from home up to twice per week. Visa relocation sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Identify company-level opportunities where Data Science can support strategy, growth, revenue, product outcomes and competitive advantage.
• Lead complex, cross-functional Data Science initiatives from opportunity discovery and problem framing through delivery, adoption and impact measurement.
• Design, build and productionise statistical, predictive and algorithmic solutions, including ML models, recommendation logic, scoring, segmentation, forecasting, experimentation and causal inference.
• Support leaders with strategic decisions and communicate complex analyses through clear narratives, trade-offs and recommendations.
• Establish standards for modelling, code quality, deployment, monitoring, documentation, automation and responsible AI use.
• Build reusable models and frameworks while mentoring data scientists and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant experience in Data Science, analytics, machine learning or a related field, including end-to-end initiative leadership.
• Deep expertise in machine learning, statistics and causal inference, with strong Python and SQL skills.
• Strong software and ML engineering practices, including Git, code review, testing, versioning, monitoring and production-grade code.
• Experience with problem formulation, strategic direction-setting, experimentation, forecasting, measurement and decision science.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across sales, product, revenue and growth.
• Understanding of GDPR-sensitive data processing and when to involve legal experts in compliance assessments.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Hex, dbt or similar modern data tools.
• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience in a SaaS environment, especially enterprise go-to-market, revenue, customer lifecycle, product usage or retention data.
• Experience influencing company-level priorities through Data Science, analytics or strategic insight work.
