Research Intern (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Stuttgart, Germany

Develops robotics intelligence that enables robots to sense, reason, and act in industrial environments such as warehouses and factories.

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate task decomposition methods for complex robotic manipulation tasks.
• Investigate multimodal sensor fusion using vision, force, and tactile data to improve policy learning.
• Implement and benchmark imitation learning pipelines in simulated and real-world robotic setups.
• Collaborate with engineering to transfer research outcomes to prototype systems.
• Document and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Master's or PhD program in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field.
• Minimum GPA of 1.7 on the German scale, or a GitHub repository with at least 5 stars.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or behavior cloning.
• Hands-on experience with robotic platforms or simulation environments such as PyBullet or Isaac Gym.
• Strong Python programming skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
