Lead Scientist II (Advanced Materials): Leading the development and commercialization of next-generation thermal management and EMI materials for AI datacenters, advanced packaging, automotive electronics, telecommunications, and high-performance computing with an accent on technology roadmaps, multidisciplinary leadership, and product scale-up. Focus on developing thermal interface materials, liquid metal systems, and phase change materials, reducing technical risk, generating intellectual property, and translating customer requirements into commercial solutions.

What you will do
- Define and execute technology roadmaps for next-generation thermal management and EMI materials.
- Lead development of TIM1, TIM1.5, TIM2, liquid metal systems, phase change materials, lid seals, and adjacent technologies.
- Lead and develop scientists, engineers, and technologists while setting technical priorities and staffing plans.
- Manage strategic product development programs from concept through commercialization, including stage-gate execution, risk reduction, and development planning.
- Engage customers, business leaders, sales teams, and executive stakeholders to translate system-level requirements into differentiated solutions.
- Support experimentation, characterization, manufacturing scale-up, technology transfer, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; a masterβs degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- 10+ years of industrial R&D experience in advanced materials or thermal management technologies.
- Demonstrated success leading complex technology development programs and managing scientists, engineers, or cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong understanding of product development, commercialization, manufacturing scale-up, technical risk reduction, and project execution.
- Record of innovation through patents, invention disclosures, product launches, publications, or significant technical contributions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
- Expertise in thermal interface materials, liquid metals, phase change materials, advanced polymer composites, fillers, or semiconductor packaging materials.
- Knowledge of electromagnetic interference materials.
- Experience supporting AI/datacenter, semiconductor, telecommunications, automotive, aerospace, or electronics markets.
- Knowledge of thermal modeling, reliability testing, and advanced characterization techniques.
- Experience managing global teams and multi-site development programs; an MBA or formal project/program management training.
