Management Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Remote in Australia

Salary: AUD $100,000–$120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Own the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and management accounts.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis for executive and board review.
• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario modelling, cost reviews, and commercial analysis.
• Build and maintain SaaS financial models covering ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, LTV, and gross margin by product line.
• Prepare BAS, GST, tax workpapers, and statutory reporting in line with AASB/IFRS requirements.
• Improve Xero-based financial systems, automate manual processes, and partner on system migrations or ERP evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of post-qualification experience in management accounting or financial reporting.
• Strong experience with month-end close, management reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency with cloud accounting platforms; Xero is strongly preferred, with NetSuite, MYOB, or QuickBooks also considered.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and the ability to communicate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, accountability, and comfort working in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, technology startups, or high-growth scale-ups.
• Familiarity with subscription revenue recognition, including ASC 606 or AASB 15.
• Working knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll tax, and FBT obligations.
• Experience with multi-currency consolidation, international entity reporting, Shopify, e-commerce, or D2C business models.
• Experience building financial models for product or market expansion decisions.
