Senior AI Security Engineer

Location: Remote, United States (Massachusetts)

Salary: $136,076.50–$213,834.50 annually

What you will do

• Act as the primary security contact for enterprise AI technologies and internal AI adoption initiatives.
• Assess security, privacy, compliance, and data protection risks across AI tools, assistants, copilots, agents, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Define guardrails and security controls for AI deployments, AI-generated code, developer AI tooling, and agent-based automation.
• Partner with Engineering, Product Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, and Security Operations teams on AI governance and architecture reviews.
• Monitor emerging AI threats and regulations, conduct AI risk assessments, and improve visibility into AI adoption and related risks.
• Evaluate AI security technologies and develop automation that improves governance, visibility, and security outcomes.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in security engineering, application security, product security, cloud security, DevSecOps, information security, or a related discipline.
• Experience conducting security assessments, architecture reviews, technology evaluations, or risk assessments.
• Working knowledge of generative AI, large language models, AI agents, copilots, and AI-powered development tools.
• Understanding of AI security risks including data leakage, prompt injection, excessive permissions, insecure outputs, model misuse, and agent abuse.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, plus familiarity with APIs, CI/CD pipelines, modern software development, and application security.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise AI adoption, AI governance, AI risk management, or AI security programs.
• Experience with ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS, or responsible AI principles.
• Experience evaluating AI vendors, AI-enabled SaaS platforms, or emerging technologies.
• Experience in SaaS, cloud-native, or high-growth technology organizations.
