Senior GNC Engineer - Flight Controls & Autonomy (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop flight control, guidance, navigation, estimation, sensor fusion, and autonomy algorithms for high-speed aircraft.
• Design control laws and analyze linear control models, vehicle dynamics, stability, and performance.
• Build high-fidelity MATLAB and Simulink models of vehicle dynamics, sensors, actuators, and control-system behavior.
• Run 6-DOF simulations, Monte Carlo analyses, regression tests, and software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Integrate flight controls, navigation, avionics, and vehicle subsystems while supporting flight-test planning, execution, and post-flight analysis.
• Define requirements, interfaces, verification strategies, test coverage, system architecture, and technical trade studies with cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in GNC, flight controls, autonomy, estimation, robotics, or related aerospace systems.
• Strong knowledge of dynamics, linear controls, stability analysis, modeling, and simulation.
• Experience developing or integrating flight-critical algorithms for aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, UAVs, or other autonomous systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C++, or similar technical computing and software development tools.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous aircraft, autonomous takeoff and landing, GNSS, INS/IMU, air data systems, or other aircraft navigation sensors.
• Practical experience with EKF, UKF, or related Kalman filtering techniques.
• Experience with flight dynamics modeling, control-law development, flight-test support, post-flight analysis, and control-system tuning.
• Experience with Monte Carlo testing and regression-based validation.
