Director of Identity and Access Management Engineering (IAM)

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; hybrid work schedule with office presence required.

Annual base salary: $180,700–$244,500, with potential discretionary bonus and stock awards for eligible roles.

What you will do

• Lead the IAM strategy, architecture, roadmap, implementation, delivery, operations, and continuous improvement.
• Manage enterprise IAM capabilities including PAM, IGA, access management, MFA, and identity services across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Establish secure and scalable architecture standards and integrations for IAM platforms and enterprise applications.
• Lead, coach, and provide technical direction to the IAM team, including on-call support and escalation coverage.
• Partner with stakeholders, communicate roadmap progress and risks to senior leadership, and manage vendor relationships, evaluations, budget, and licensing.
• Support lifecycle management, least-privilege access, access recertification, security frameworks, SOX controls, audits, and complex IAM initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in IAM, security engineering, or related technology roles, including enterprise IAM program and operations leadership.
• 6+ years of people management experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing and operating IAM platforms across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Expertise in PAM, IGA, access management, phishing-resistant MFA, federation, and identity services, including SailPoint, Ping Identity, AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, and BeyondTrust.
• Experience with SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP, identity providers, enterprise application integrations, and communication with technical and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent IAM, PAM, cloud, or security vendor certification.
