Compiler Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Location: Cambridge, UK; hybrid

Salary: £50,000–£65,000 per year, depending on experience

hirify.global develops quantum error-correction technology and software for fault-tolerant quantum computing, partnering with quantum hardware providers and government agencies.

What you will do

• Design and build system tools including compilers, emulators, profilers, and debuggers.
• Write correct and maintainable code for hirify.global’s software stack.
• Build compilation and runtime systems for error-corrected quantum computing.
• Work with scientists and engineers to implement new error-correcting codes and decoder runtimes.

Requirements

• Broad knowledge of compilers, operating systems, computer architectures, and the wider software and hardware stack.
• Interest or experience in compilers, including LLVM MLIR or other compiler technologies.
• Proficiency in Python and proficiency in C++ or Rust.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse colleagues, communicate effectively, and deliver work under deadlines.
• Interest in the quantum open-source ecosystem and willingness to learn new technologies.
