Senior Manager of AI

Location: Remote. Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. personnel security clearance is required.

What you will do

• Lead a new AI team of approximately five AI/ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers.
• Own the team’s OKRs, roadmap, and delivery of customer-facing and internal AI and data engineering initiatives.
• Guide development of agentic AI, orbital event detection and characterization, and the company data lake.
• Drive high performance and reliability standards for AI/ML algorithms and cloud-based software services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on AI and software roadmap planning and data engineering needs.
• Report AI team performance and results to senior and executive leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager or AI Manager in a fast-paced software development environment.
• Hands-on, current experience with agentic AI technology.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based software services, including deployment to US High Side networks.
• Experience with large-scale distributed data platforms such as Databricks or Spark.
• Strong knowledge of software development, testing methodologies, Agile, and DevOps principles.
• Ability to lead, mentor, communicate with stakeholders, and participate in on-call support during critical escalations.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with Postgres or MySQL.
• Experience with static and dynamic code analysis, penetration testing, and other security requirements.
• Background in mathematics, physics, or orbital mechanics.
