Field Team - Member of Technical Staff (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; in person at the San Francisco HQ 5 days a week, with one company-wide remote week per month

Salary: $200,000–$325,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Build production-grade integrations of the interpretability platform into partner environments, including APIs, custom pipelines, internal tooling, and evaluation workflows.
• Design and execute short-timeline pilots that demonstrate the platform's impact.
• Work directly with partner engineering and research teams as the day-to-day technical point of contact.
• Bring field insights back to platform and research teams and develop reusable tooling and playbooks.
• Adapt novel interpretability methods for partner technology stacks, from research prototypes through production hardening.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills and production experience with Python and modern ML frameworks, including PyTorch and JAX.
• Ability to understand new research techniques and ship them in production.
• Ability to learn quickly, work through ambiguity, and take ownership of technical delivery.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Technical degree or equivalent experience in AI, ML, or a related field.
• Experience in forward-deployed, solutions, or customer-facing engineering.
• Experience at a high-growth startup or frontier AI lab.
• Experience with large language models, fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks, or agent development.
• Familiarity with interpretability, mechanistic interpretability, sparse autoencoders, or feature steering.
