Senior Field Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Tokyo Prefecture, Japan; deployments may take place at customer data centers across Japan and the region.

Salary: ¥14,000,000–¥17,000,000 JPY base salary annually.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end deployment of rack-scale AI systems at customer data centers.
• Act as the primary technical contact for site readiness, covering power, cooling, networking, and data center services.
• Conduct site assessments and resolve infrastructure issues before hardware delivery.
• Plan and validate cooling, AC power, cabling, switching, and AI workload networking.
• Coordinate logistics, rack assignments, cross-connects, remote hands, and customer stakeholders.
• Document deployments, support rack-level issues, and provide input on future rack product design.

Requirements

• Experience coordinating large hardware deployments in live data center environments.
• Knowledge of 208V and 415V AC power, high-density cooling, and front-to-rear airflow.
• Knowledge of data center topologies and protocols including BGP, LACP, VRRP, VLAN, VXLAN, VPN, and RoCE.
• Hands-on production administration with Red Hat Linux or another RPM-based distribution, plus BMC, service processor, and IPMI systems management.
• Knowledge of rack-level RAS design, AI infrastructure concepts, and Shell scripting or Python.
• Fluent Japanese and strong written and verbal English communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Juniper or Arista switching experience.
• Experience with DC power systems.
• Hands-on experience with liquid cooling technologies.
