Staff Software Engineer, AI

Location: New York, United States. Candidates who live within a reasonable commute to a hirify.global office must work in the office at least 3 days a week.

Salary: $210,000–$263,000 per year, plus eligible short-term and long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Develop and refine AI capabilities for client-facing solutions, taking concepts from ideation through production.
• Integrate AI solutions into existing production processes.
• Design and implement scalable AI system architecture, including model orchestration, caching strategies, and fallback mechanisms.
• Evaluate and implement new AI technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer or in a similar role developing, shipping, and testing software in an established enterprise.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Production experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google, including rate-limit handling, cost optimization, and performance monitoring.
• Production experience using RAG frameworks with proprietary applications and datasets.
• Experience with AI system testing, model evaluation, A/B testing of AI features, and production model-performance monitoring.
• Experience with data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

Nice to have

• Experience working with firewalls, routers, and load balancers.
