Back End Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; four days per week onsite

Salary: €55,000–€75,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and develop scalable, performant microservices for the Vault banking platform.
• Write automated unit and integration tests as part of the development cycle.
• Translate customer requirements into structured, trackable tickets and defined deliverables.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate features coherently across the product.
• Manage and debug deployments from testing environments through production.
• Take ownership of requirements from engineering design and task breakdown through implementation.

Requirements

• Professional experience with Python or Golang.
• Experience developing automated tests as an integral part of the development cycle.
• Interest in client-facing projects, including scoping and defining deliverables.
• Ability to work onsite in the Lisbon office four days per week.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of banking or finance.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with client/server, networking, or microservice architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Mesos, or AI-powered applications.
