What you will do
- Develop the object storage engine at the foundation of a software-defined storage platform.
- Design how objects and metadata are organized, indexed, persisted, located, retrieved, protected, and recovered.
- Implement metadata management, persistent data structures, transactional updates, object lifecycle handling, data integrity, and recovery mechanisms.
- Optimize storage software for flash-aware performance, reliability, scalability, and consistently low latency.
- Debug complex correctness and performance issues using traces, profiling, logs, metrics, and targeted fault injection.
- Collaborate with software, architecture, firmware, hardware, and validation teams from early development through production readiness.
Requirements
- Strong C or C++ development experience in Linux systems software.
- Experience with asynchronous, event-driven, multithreaded, multicore, or other large systems codebases.
- Background in object storage, storage engines, file systems, databases, key-value stores, block storage, or embedded storage software.
- Practical knowledge of metadata management, indexing, persistent data structures, caching, or low-latency key and object lookup.
- Understanding of transactional storage, journaling, write ordering, atomicity, idempotency, crash consistency, and recovery.
- Knowledge of storage performance fundamentals and NVMe SSD behavior, including garbage collection, endurance, latency, and media errors.
