Implementations Engineer (Python)

Location: New York, San Francisco, London, or EU remote. The listing also identifies the role as on-site.

Salary: New York or San Francisco $90K–$110K; London £55K–£65K; EU remote €30K–€55K, with equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Build integrations that ingest data from laboratory instruments such as spectrometers, rheometers, and HPLCs.
• Design automated data-transfer pipelines connecting ELNs, LIMS, spreadsheets, databases, and the hirify.global platform.
• Write Python scripts and internal tooling to parse, validate, and transform scientific data files.
• Work with customer technical teams to understand data environments, map schemas, and deliver documented integrations.
• Collaborate with core engineering on reusable integration patterns, shared libraries, and internal tooling.
• Debug and maintain integrations as customer requirements and data sources evolve.

Requirements

• Coursework or professional experience equivalent to four university-level computer science courses.
• Ability to write Python or another scripting language for processing data files.
• Meaningful knowledge of chemistry, materials science, biology, or another related life or physical science.
• Curiosity about software engineering and technology-enabled scientific workflows.
• Comfort working with unfamiliar file formats, APIs, and data structures.
• B.S. in computer science, chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, bioengineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with REST APIs, SQL databases, or Excel/CSV data pipelines.
• Exposure to laboratory environments, scientific instrumentation, or research data workflows.
• Previous startup or fast-paced technical environment experience.
