TN Licensed 1099 Collaborating Psychiatrist

Location: 100% remote within the United States; active unrestricted Tennessee medical license required. Clinical availability must fall within 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. Eastern Time, seven days per week. Two annual in-person supervision meetings with the Tennessee PMHNP team are required. Direct clinical care is provided in MA, NY, FL, and PA.

Compensation: $350 per month for each active PMHNP under the collaboration agreement; $250 per 60-minute psychiatric intake evaluation; $100 per 30-minute follow-up medication management appointment.

What you will do

• Serve as collaborating physician for Tennessee-licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in accordance with state regulations.
• Manage clinical workflows, operational policies, regulatory compliance, and chart review processes with the Director of Psychiatry.
• Conduct monthly chart reviews and patient chart audits for assigned PMHNPs.
• Evaluate documentation, treatment plans, prescribing practices, and clinical interventions.
• Participate in and periodically facilitate monthly collaboration meetings.
• Provide 2–4 hours of weekly direct psychiatric care through telepsychiatry and collaborate with the multidisciplinary clinical team.

Requirements

• Board-certified MD or DO psychiatrist.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in Tennessee.
• Willingness to be licensed in MA, NY, FL, and PA, where direct clinical services are provided.
• Availability for 2–4 hours of clinical work per week.
• Strong verbal and written communication, empathetic listening, and the ability to work autonomously in telemedicine.
• Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat college students and fulfill state-specific collaborating physician requirements.
