Head of Content (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, United States, with Wednesdays working from home

Compensation: $210K–$260K annually plus equity

What you will do

• Build the content function across founder thought leadership, customer stories, SEO, AEO, newsletters, and creator partnerships.
• Develop a sustainable process for founder posts, essays, podcasts, talks, and video.
• Create a repeatable pipeline for sourcing, interviewing, writing, and distributing customer stories.
• Own organic search and AI answer-engine visibility through structured, citable content and technical foundations.
• Build the editorial operating system, including calendars, briefs, standards, distribution processes, and analytics.
• Hire and manage writers, editors, contractors, agencies, and content operators while partnering with growth marketing.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial, or journalism.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with a portfolio of published work.
• Experience ghostwriting for a strong founder or executive voice.
• Serious SEO experience and practical knowledge of AEO and how AI assistants cite sources.
• Experience in a technical product, developer, data, or AI-related environment.
• Experience building a B2B creator or influencer program, plus video or short-form production experience.

• Experience publishing work that demonstrates how AI answers should cite sources.
• Comfort appearing on camera.
• Experience operating at early-stage startup pace and building a content function from scratch.
