Manager, Data Platform Governance & Operations (AI)

What you will do

• Define and scale enterprise data governance strategy across Snowflake, AWS, Athena, Iceberg, and emerging data platforms.
• Embed RBAC, network security, data masking, authentication, compliance, and self-service capabilities into platform architecture.
• Establish governance for AI/ML data pipelines, including Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark ML assets, responsible data use, and lineage.
• Own SOX compliance execution, access controls, audit evidence, segregation-of-duties monitoring, and continuous compliance validation.
• Manage platform economics through warehouse sizing, compute optimization, cost attribution, chargeback frameworks, and ROI reporting.
• Hire and mentor technical talent, lead architecture decisions and code reviews, and grow the governance team from 3 to 5 engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data platform operations, or data management, including 3+ years in people leadership or a technical lead role.
• Experience building and scaling governance programs in AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
• Deep Snowflake expertise, including RBAC, row-level security, data masking, network policies, authentication policies, resource optimization, and cost controls.
• AWS proficiency with S3, IAM, governance integrations, and multi-engine architectures such as Iceberg, Athena, and Spark.
• Enterprise compliance experience with SOX, SOC 2, or an equivalent framework, including access controls and audit automation.
• Experience with data catalogs and metadata management tools such as Alation or Collibra, plus knowledge of Databricks governance capabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience governing Snowflake AI/ML capabilities including Cortex, Agents, Snowpark ML, and AI data pipelines.
• Experience with cost attribution, chargeback models, and ROI measurement for data platforms.
• Familiarity with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience in enterprise SaaS organizations with distributed data ownership and self-service models.
