Company

hirify.global is a Series B startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.

What you will do

  • Design, model, and analyze heat pipe systems and their application interfaces.
  • Support prototyping and mass-manufacturing methods for heat pipes.
  • Develop test articles, test stands, and procedures to validate heat pipe performance and service life.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to translate customer requirements into delivered hardware.
  • Define operating procedures and performance limits for end users.
  • Investigate heat pipe failures, establish reliability limits, and integrate corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Nuclear Engineering, or a related physics-based field.
  • At least 2 years of engineering experience focused on thermal or heat transfer systems.
  • Experience with thermal modeling software such as COMSOL or ANSYS.
  • Ability to work onsite in Torrance, California.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations under U.S. export regulations.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends when required to support critical milestones.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Thermal Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Knowledge of materials science, alloy selection, and high-temperature two-phase flow simulation.
  • Experience designing, analyzing, manufacturing, and testing heat pipes, including systems operating above 500°C.
  • Experience with sodium purification and material handling.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety standards, testing protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work on advanced nuclear energy and microreactor technologies for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.
  • Collaborate in person across engineering, research and development, production, customer, and stakeholder teams.
  • Values include systems thinking, end-user focus, unconventional problem-solving, direct engagement with stakeholders, and operating effectively amid uncertainty.
  • Equity is included in the compensation package.
