Senior Software Engineer

Location: Remote-first, working from anywhere in Brazil, with the option to work from São Paulo offices or partner coworking spaces up to twice a week.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex software issues and support product and business decisions.
• Own the software development lifecycle from definition and development through testing, deployment, production, and maintenance.
• Design and maintain scalable, reliable software architecture, design patterns, and RESTful APIs.
• Participate in code and design reviews while improving engineering practices, delivery quality, and team processes.
• Handle incidents, troubleshoot production issues, create postmortems, and implement preventive actions.
• Mentor software engineers and provide technical guidance.

Requirements

• Experience with Agile development practices, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of database design and evolution, software architecture, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, performance tracking, version control, testing, deployment automation, code reviews, and design documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Fluency in Portuguese and advanced English are required.

Nice to have

• Experience mentoring software engineers and developing scalable client-server mobile applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, containers, and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience testing and tuning scalability, algorithms, and distributed systems.
