TL;DR
Head of Security & IT (AI Data Security): Building and owning an end-to-end security, compliance, and data protection program for a platform that securely exchanges AI training data with an accent on cloud security, SOC 2, HIPAA, and training data lifecycle protection. Focus on threat modeling, architecture and code reviews, incident response, security automation, and scaling the function from an early-stage company into rapid growth.

What you will do
- Own security strategy, architecture, operations, compliance, and culture end to end.
- Audit and mature the security program, formalize policies, improve controls, and maintain SOC 2 Type II compliance.
- Build a robust HIPAA and PHI protection program for healthcare data.
- Secure the full training data lifecycle across ingestion, processing, storage, preparation, and delivery.
- Partner with engineering on CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, data workflows, threat modeling, architecture reviews, and code-level security assessments.
- Lead incident response, evaluate security tooling, support customer security reviews, and define the roadmap for scaling the function.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in security roles, including at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Deep technical experience reviewing architecture, infrastructure, and code alongside engineering teams.
- Experience building or significantly maturing security programs at early-stage or high-growth companies.
- Strong understanding of cloud security across AWS, GCP, or Azure, identity and access management, and data protection at scale.
- Hands-on experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliance.
- Ability to operate as both an individual contributor and a security leader.
Nice to have
- Experience securing data pipelines or working with data-intensive platforms.
- Experience in data infrastructure, AI/ML, or companies selling to technical buyers.
- Knowledge of data provenance, lineage tracking, data governance, or supply chain security.
- Prior experience as a customer-facing security leader.
